We are looking for an experienced Conceptual Design Engineer specialised in vehicle chassis-mechanical engineering design to be assigned in our R&D Conceptual Design team.

This critical role determines the strength, basic structure and properties of vehicles.

What is the job waiting for you?

  • Design of Mechanical Systems:
    • Design, selection, assembly and analysis of mechanical systems that provide and control the movement of the vehicle such as suspension systems, steering system, brake system.
    • Design of mechanical interfaces for the integration of powertrains such as engine and gearbox into the vehicle chassis.
    • Design of mechanical systems that affect passenger comfort such as door mechanisms, seat mechanisms.
  • Developing New Chassis Concepts:
    • Creating new chassis concepts in accordance with the intended use of the vehicle (urban, intercity, private, etc.), passenger capacity, weight limits and other technical requirements.
    • To determine the most appropriate solutions by evaluating different materials, production methods and design approaches.
  • Performing Simulations and Analyses:
    • Simulate and analyse chassis durability, vibration behaviour, weight distribution and other critical parameters using computer aided engineering (CAE) tools.
    • Evaluate the strength and reliability of the chassis using methods such as finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Prepare Technical Drawings and Documentation:
    • To create a three-dimensional (3D) model of the chassis and prepare detailed technical drawings.
    • To create technical documentation covering all data and results obtained during the design process.
  • Collaborating with Teams:
    • Working in close co-operation with other engineering disciplines, design, production and quality control teams, product management and marketing departments to ensure the holistic design of the vehicle.
  • Ensuring Compliance with Standards:
    • To create designs that comply with national and international vehicle safety standards, emission regulations and other legal requirements.
  • Cost Optimisation:
    • To offer cost-effective solutions by evaluating different materials and production methods to reduce the cost of the chassis.
  • Prototype Production and Tests:
    • To produce and test the prototype of the designed chassis, to make improvements in the design according to the results obtained.
    • Producing prototypes of the designed mechanical parts and testing their performances.
    • Making improvements in the design according to the test results.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Schedule: To complete the tasks in accordance with the determined project schedule by working on the calendar and effort in accordance with the processes related to the subject that will be worked on.
  • Quality: To ensure that the designs comply with quality standards.
  • Problem Solving: Finding solutions to technical problems that arise during the design process.
  • Reporting: Regular reporting to management on design processes and results achieved.
  • Documentation: Identify and document work outputs, lessons learnt and revisions to work processes.

What we are looking for?

Requirements:

·        Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive industry (vehicle chassis and mechanical engineering design)

·        Education: Graduated from Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or a related department

Areas of Expertise:

·        Mechanical systems, chassis design, vehicle technologies

·        Computer Skills: Advanced command of CATIA software, command of other CAD/CAM software (NX, SolidWorks, etc.) will be an advantage.
